Dance Programs
Hip Hop
Hip Hop is non-partner dancing to contemporary music, the
kind often seen on today’s popular music video. Hip Hop
emphasizes body movement and rhythm. There are classes for
all ages and levels.
Latin Ballroom Dance
Learn the
basics of Meringue, Salsa, Cha Cha & Swing. You can come as a
couple or as a single. This class is sure to “spice” up
everyone’s lives!
Social
Ballroom Dance
Learn the basics steps of
the Waltz, Tango, Rumba. It is preferred that you
come as a couple. These dances are very popular with our
wedding couples as their first dance.
Mother/Daughter
Dance
Moms & Daughters
night out. Here is an opportunity to spend some quality time
with each other. Have fun dancing over 6 weeks with a
different dance style every week! Cardio Salsa, Hip Hop,
Jazz, Belly dancing and more.
Cardio Salsa
Cardio
Salsa is an exercise class using Salsa and Meringue. It is
fun, “hot” and teaches rhythm while you get in shape and
stay active! You can also use the moves on the dance floor!
Zumba
Zumba workout
mixes body sculpting movements with dance steps derived from
cumbia,
merengue,
salsa,
reggaeton,
hip hop,
mambo,
rumba,
flamenco,
and
calypso
and Salsaton. The routines feature aerobic interval training
with a combination of fast and slow rhythms
Belly Dancing
Belly Dancing is a great class to take at any age.
This Middle Eastern dance, in which the dancer
makes aesthetic movements of the hips and abdomen, will
teach you control and movement.
It is a fun way to learn rhythm and get lots of exercise.
Mommy's
Little Secret
This
class is geared for adults 19+. The program includes a
variety of exotic dance moves combined with focus on working
every muscle group your body has. It is an intense program
and will bring you to a fitness level you thought you could
never accomplish. An open mind is required.
Ballet
Steps (ages 2.5-4)
First Steps promotes education, motor skills, coordination,
balance, social interaction and the introduction to dance
movement. The class emphasizes rhythm, imagination and
following directions.
Kinder Ballet
(ages 4.5-6)
KinderBallet introduces students to several dance
disciplines in short combination classes that are just the
right length for tiny dancers.
This Class
emphasizes rhythm, musicality & imagination, large motor
skills, exercises for strength & flexibility, following
directions, and enjoying interaction with peers.

Full Year
Dance Programs
Primary
Classes (ages 6-8)
Three
30
minute class for ages 6 to 8 year olds. Students will have
an opportunity to learn Tap, Jazz and Ballet and will
only have to come one evening per week.
Primary Hip Hop is a 45
minute class. Students are taught several hip hop movement
as seen on today's popular music videos.
Ballet
Ballet
is essential for every dancer. Ballet class includes
traditional barre and center floor work. With proper
technique a dancer may advance to Pointe work.
Pointe & Pre-Pointe
This
class is offered to students who have reached an advanced
level the classical ballet program. Our Pre-Pointe class
will focus of strengthening and exercising for the proper
form to achieve En Pointe. Students already En Pointe must
be evaluated for correct level placement.
Jazz
Jazz is a
dance technique that borrows from all other forms and has a
wide variety of musical accompaniment – from classical to
modern sounds of today. Lyrical jazz will be incorporated
into intermediate and advanced jazz classes.
Tap
Tap dancing
is an excellent way to increase coordination of the mind and
body and to develop a sense of rhythm, timing and
expression.
Modern & Contemporary
Using
the body in creative ways. Movement may be based on creating
shapes, energy flow, rhythmic patterns, personal
interpretation, improvisation and breath. Based on modern
dance techniques.

Celtic Step Dancing
Kick up
your heels for some traditional Cape Breton step dancing
with a twist. This is a high energy, fast paced, style of
step dancing where you will learn jigs, reels and so much
more. Students should have a basic understanding of tap
before taking this class.
Irish
Irish dance
is a group of traditional dance forms originating in
Ireland
Irish
performance dancing is traditionally referred to as
stepdance.
Irish stepdance,
popularized in 1994 by the world-famous show "Riverdance,"
is notable for its rapid leg movements, body and arms being
kept largely stationary.
Lyrical
Lyrical
dancing is a combination of ballet, jazz and modern. Dancers
focus on technique, expression of emotion through music,
floor-work, lifts, partnering and spatial progressions.
Competitive students are
required to take another dance class offered by the studio.
Musical Theatre
Musical
theatre is a form of
theatre
combining
music,
songs,
spoken
dialogue
and
dance.
The emotional content of the piece – humor,
pathos,
love, anger – as well as the story itself, is communicated
through the words, music, movement and technical aspects of
the entertainment as an integrated whole. This class will be
competing in three Ontario Competitions. The student will be
required to attend 1.25 hour class per week as well they
are required to take another dance class offered by the
studio.
